This program equips you for professional roles in therapeutic intervention, evaluation, and advisory services, along with opportunities in academic instruction and scholarly investigation.
The Master of Arts in psychology is an intensive, full-time academic pathway that progresses directly into doctoral studies. You'll expand your understanding of fundamental and practical psychological principles while cultivating essential research competencies for careers as clinical practitioners or field researchers. The psychology M.A. program mandates completion of at least 30 semester hours in psychology coursework. A maximum of 15 combined semester hours from transferred graduate credits and credits earned at NIU as a non-degree student may count toward the master's degree requirements.
