This 12-semester-hour certificate program offers specialized sport management coursework for graduate students outside the field and working professionals, deepening their knowledge of contemporary sports industries. Ideal for those pursuing advanced studies in business, economics, kinesiology, law, or statistics, the program also welcomes graduate students from all disciplines at Northern Illinois University or other accredited institutions, including non-degree seeking students. The certificate courses count toward partial completion of NIU's M.S. in Sport Management and may fulfill some graduate degree requirements in other departments. Current M.S. in Sport Management students cannot earn this additional credential.

Qualification Requirements
An applicant whose native language is not English must present an IELTS score of 6.5 or alternatively, a TOEFL score of at least 80 on the TOEFL ibt. Normally, to be considered for admission, a non-U.S. citizen shall have completed a four-year undergraduate degree. A minimum 2.75 overall GPA on a 4.00 system or a 3.20 GPA with 15 or more semester hours of graduate work at an accredited institution.
