This 12-semester-hour graduate certificate offers students and professionals specialized coursework exploring psychological and sociological aspects of sport and exercise participation. The program is ideal for graduate students in kinesiology, sport management, psychology, sociology, physical therapy, or statistics, though applicants from any Northern Illinois University graduate program or other accredited institutions (including Student-at-Large status) may pursue this Sport and Exercise Psychology certification. The coursework may satisfy partial requirements for Northern Illinois University's M.S.Ed. in Sport and Exercise Psychology, and certificate credits may potentially transfer toward graduate degree requirements in other departments. Current M.S.Ed. in Sport and Exercise Psychology students at Northern Illinois University cannot earn this additional certificate.
