Our communication studies curriculum equips you with essential skills for thriving in media and public relations professions. You'll develop the ability to critically examine written, spoken, visual, and digital communications through historical, analytical, and social science lenses. Additionally, you'll master creating these forms of communication for both artistic and practical purposes. Honors distinction is granted to majors maintaining an overall 3.30 GPA with at least a 3.50 in communication courses, who complete 7 credit hours of honors coursework including a senior thesis during their final year. This honors requirement comprises a capstone course, COMS 498H spread across two semesters, and COMS 495AH.
