NIU's Nonprofit and NGO Studies program is unique in that it combines the why nonprofits do what they do with the what they do. The program is interdisciplinary, meaning youll be exposed to a wide variety of subject areas including sociology, public administration, communications, anthropology and political science. The degree is designed to match your personal passion and interests, and allows you to customize your degree to your particular area of interest by taking elective courses. Typical Nonprofit and NGO Studies graduates pursue rewarding careers in the public and nonprofit sectors in the fields of management/administration, program design and delivery, fundraising and development, volunteer management, community development, and communications.
