The five-year accelerated program awards both a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Master of Science in Athletic Training. Prospective students must declare their intent to the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education as undergraduate majors and secure admission to the M.S.A.T. program. Acceptance into the M.S.A.T. program is competitive, with admission decisions based on applicant pool size and qualifications. The athletic training bachelor's program prepares students for careers as athletic trainers (ATs). Working alongside physicians, AT students deliver preventive care, emergency response, clinical assessments, therapeutic treatments, and injury rehabilitation for impairments and disabilities. Athletic trainers practice in accordance with state licensing regulations under physician supervision. The kinesiology bachelor's program equips students for careers or advanced study in health promotion, sports performance, sports management, and cardiac rehabilitation. This comprehensive curriculum blends academic coursework, lab work, practical experiences, and a final internship to develop skilled professionals for the health and fitness sector.
