This accelerated program results in earning both a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Human Development and Family Sciences (HDFS) and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. Interested students must notify the HDFS department to enroll in the 3+3 program. Available to all undergraduates pursuing the Family and Individual Development (FID) specialization within HDFS, participants must have completed at least 90 credit hours of undergraduate coursework. This includes fulfilling all HDFS B.S. degree requirements and general education prerequisites while maintaining a minimum 3.25 GPA at NIU. Those meeting these criteria in the FID track may apply to NIU's College of Law under this program's special admission terms. Applicants must take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) and achieve a score at or above the 50th percentile of the prior year's entering law class.
