This accelerated program results in earning either a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Sociology along with a Master of Arts in Sociology. Interested students must declare their intent to the Sociology Department early as majors committed to completing the program promptly. Available to all sociology undergraduates who have finished at least 96 semester hours, including general education requirements and these key major courses: SOCI 300, SOCI 301, SOCI 302, SOCI 377A, and SOCI 377B. Applicants need a minimum 3.25 overall GPA and 3.50 GPA in the specified major courses (SOCI 300, SOCI 301, SOCI 302, SOCI 377A, SOCI 377B) or an acceptable GRE score. Qualified candidates may apply for the M.A. program through the accelerated degree pathway, following the Graduate School's standard application process.
