Graduates will gain the ability to evaluate societal tradeoffs in resource allocation for decision and policy formulation. These versatile skills empower students to improve analytical rigor and judgment within their fields when assessing initiatives or regulations. Those pursuing the Environmental Economics Certificate will engage in cross-disciplinary learning, developing proficiency in weighing alternatives during decision processes while advancing their quantitative evaluation skills. The program integrates economic reasoning into students' primary fields of study through three foundational economics courses (ECO 284, ECO 301, and ECO 324) plus two economics electives.
