Join the renewable energy movement with NAU's Wind Energy Graduate Certificate. This flexible program lets you customize your studies to match your professional focus. Master the design of efficient wind turbines by delving into wind-flow dynamics and electrical/mechanical principles. Alternatively, explore the regulatory, economic, and policy dimensions to specialize in advancing wind energy as a sustainable power source. Whichever path you choose, you'll gain critical expertise to contribute to the booming wind energy sector. The Wind Energy Graduate Certificate (WEGC) equips students with specialized training for careers in this dynamic field. As wind power has become an established energy technology with significant growth potential, the industry demands skilled professionals and innovative businesses.
This 15-credit program accommodates both on-campus and fully online students. All participants take two core graduate courses covering essential electrical, mechanical, and wind flow principles of wind energy systems. These foundational courses prepare students to understand energy conversion technologies. Students then choose three additional courses from various disciplines to align the certificate with their career goals. The program can be completed alongside MS or PhD studies or pursued independently by non-degree seeking students focused solely on earning the certificate.
