Stand up for underserved children, adults, and families in your community through NAU's Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program. Through interactive coursework and practical experiences, you'll develop the ability to promote human rights and social equity for at-risk groups. The program equips you with tools to combat poverty, systemic racism, and discrimination, particularly in the rural and indigenous communities of the Southwest.
Social work focuses on improving quality of life and fulfilling fundamental human needs, prioritizing vulnerable, oppressed, and impoverished individuals. This program trains versatile social workers to serve diverse communities across various social structures, while mastering techniques for driving meaningful change.

Qualification Requirements
Individual program admission requirements over and above admission to NAU are required.
Students must formally apply to the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Program by completing the required application. Application information can be found on the Department of Social Work website.
To be eligible to apply to the B.S.W. degree plan, you must have:
at least 24 credit hours in progress
a grade of B or better in SW 220
and a minimum grade point average of 2.25
All transcripts and mark sheets must be submitted in English.
We require a minimum 2.5 grade-point average (GPA) for first year and transfer students.
Transfer students who have earned 24 or more credits at an American post-secondary institution only need to submit that transcript as part of their application. A high school transcript is not required.
NAU accepts transcript evaluations from members of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) as part of the evaluation process. However, the result of a transcript evaluation does not guarantee that transfer credits will be awarded. All transcripts from post-secondary institutions in Nigeria must be evaluated from members of the NACES services. IELTS 6, TOEFL - 70 iBT and iBT Home Edition.
