Examine key matters affecting Indigenous communities across the Americas and worldwide: ancestral traditions, government relations, eco-friendly growth, Native business ventures, and present-day realities on tribal territories. This curriculum focuses on modern leadership abilities for tribal governance while honoring Indigenous heritage. You'll gain expertise and practical skills to support the long-term viability of Indigenous societies today. The Applied Indigenous Studies degree investigates challenges facing native populations both in the Western Hemisphere and internationally. Coursework immerses learners in tribal legacies, cultural practices, policy frameworks, green economic initiatives, Native-owned enterprises, and current situations on Indigenous lands.
The Applied Indigenous Studies program additionally provides four specialized minors to deepen student knowledge: Applied Indigenous Studies, Native American Studies, Indigenous Wellness Studies, and Tribal Governance.
