Faculty members are dedicated to offering doctoral candidates a top-tier educational journey, encompassing coursework, comprehensive exams, and dissertation work. The program exposes students to all four core disciplines while enhancing their research capabilities via methodological coursework. Participants can either specialize traditionally in one field or merge it with public policy for a policy-centric approach.
The program familiarizes students with the four key areas: American government, comparative politics, international relations, and public policy, while simultaneously strengthening their research abilities through cross-disciplinary methodology courses.
Students acquire the skills to design and execute innovative research in their selected specialties. They become proficient in relevant literature and interact with fundamental theories concerning political processes, institutions, actors, and concepts within political science's principal academic domains. Additionally, they can gain specialized knowledge in various methodologies, from archival studies and qualitative interviews to statistical modeling and artificial intelligence techniques.
