The Economics PhD program offers an intensive, specialized curriculum where students focus on one of two key areas: Industrial Organization, Competition Policy, and Regulatory Economics or Labor Economics. This practical program prepares graduates for careers in academia, government, or the private sector. With fewer than ten annual admissions, the program maintains an intimate learning environment. Students select either industrial organization (including competition policy and regulatory economics) or labor economics as their primary specialization, with each field explored through two PhD-level semester courses. Those choosing industrial organization may optionally pursue transportation economics as a secondary focus. Bachelor's degree holders must complete MA core courses, two electives, and PhD requirements for admission.
