The Bachelor of Science program emphasizes applying mathematical principles within economic frameworks across its six core classes and numerous elective options. The BS curriculum provides flexibility to explore subjects like developmental economics, strategic decision-making theory, and quantitative economic analysis, alongside supplementary coursework in math and computer science. Those contemplating graduate work in economics should strongly consider dual degrees in economics (BS) and mathematics (BS) or our integrated economics-mathematics program. Economics examines how communities create and trade products and services to meet demands. College students often pursue economics to cultivate precise analytical capabilities valuable in modern professional environments. Within social sciences, economics stands out for its structured approach to assessing policy decisions through both theoretical and practical lenses. An economics degree also serves as excellent preparation for advanced studies in economics, public administration, legal studies, or business management.
