The Departments of Sociology & Anthropology and Philosophy & Religion provide an interdisciplinary joint major in sociology and religious studies. This combined program blends the examination of societal frameworks with exploration of faith traditions and practices. Philosophy engages with fundamental inquiries and concepts surrounding ethics, community, spirituality, and both natural and social sciences. Philosophy courses equip learners with knowledge of philosophical methodologies and historical perspectives, while fostering critical, collective contemplation about existence and humanity's place within it. Through textual analysis, dialogue, and written work, participants investigate issues regarding the legitimacy of ethical assessments, political ideologies, and scientific paradigms, along with value-based considerations in fields like jurisprudence, healthcare, ecology, and innovation.
