This program prepares students to transfer into a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at a four-year institution. The Associate of Science degree with a Pre-Nursing to BSN focus allows students to complete their science and general education requirements at North before transitioning to a university to start nursing coursework and ultimately earn their BSN degree.
Participants in this program will gain abilities in applying and articulating core scientific concepts for everyday life, mastering scientific inquiry methods, analytical problem-solving, and critical thinking. They'll also develop skills in verbal communication, teamwork, and understanding human behavior - valuable assets for both personal growth and career success. These competencies remain highly sought-after by employers. With healthcare provider shortages becoming more prevalent, nurses play an increasingly vital role. In fact, nursing represents the largest healthcare occupation nationwide, with professionals working across diverse environments including clinics, hospitals, long-term care facilities, and community health settings.
