North Dakota State University's (NDSU) Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program prepares students to launch or advance their professional journeys in various accounting fields, including public accounting, corporate finance, fraud examination, and cost control. This face-to-face, non-thesis program is conducted at Barry Hall in downtown Fargo, focusing on developing technical expertise, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving capabilities essential for accounting professionals. Participants will gain skills to recognize accounting challenges, conduct proper research on standards and tax regulations, evaluate information, propose solutions, and make informed recommendations. The curriculum also strengthens students' readiness for professional certification exams like the CPA, CMA, and CFE.
While high-achieving students can finish the program in just 11 months, part-time enrollment options are available. Applicants with non-accounting undergraduate degrees - whether in business or other disciplines - can join after completing prerequisite courses: Intermediate Accounting I & II, Cost Accounting, Individual Taxation, and Audit I.
