The health education major equips students for careers in school health education by cultivating essential dispositions, knowledge, and skills. This program blends classroom instruction with hands-on community learning experiences across its curriculum.

With a focus on student-centered teaching methods, the health education program prioritizes skills-based learning to enhance health literacy for every student.

Graduates of the health education major will master planning, implementing, and managing all aspects of the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child Model. Future health educators will develop expertise in assessing educational needs, designing effective curricula, and advocating for comprehensive health education across all ten content areas. The program prepares candidates to teach health education creatively and confidently to students in grades 5-12 and 7-12.
