The global marketplace presents diverse career paths for college-educated business professionals. Companies seek individuals who grasp core business principles while remaining agile in dynamic commercial landscapes. Our business administration curriculum has adapted to address both corporate and student needs by delivering comprehensive training across accounting, finance, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, information systems, and business law – combining theoretical foundations with practical applications. This wide-ranging business education proves especially valuable for those working in startups, small businesses, or organizations requiring versatile, cross-functional expertise. Aspiring entrepreneurs and future graduate students (including law school candidates) similarly gain from this extensive business foundation. Program success is demonstrated through our graduates' employment in corporate and nonprofit sectors, entrepreneurial ventures, advanced studies, and their strengthened capabilities in business management, opportunity analysis, teamwork, and strategic decision-making.
The College of Business at North Dakota State University holds accreditation from AACSB International for both undergraduate and graduate programs, making us one of only two AACSB-accredited business schools in North Dakota. This prestigious accreditation represents the gold standard in business education, requiring ongoing commitment to innovation, engagement, and educational excellence. With fewer than 10% of global business programs achieving this distinction, it underscores the exceptional quality of NDSU's College of Business.
Our four-year Business Administration program integrates liberal arts education, pre-professional training, core business disciplines (accounting, finance, management, marketing, and information systems), international business, and specialized electives. The curriculum features a 21-credit business elective component plus 3 credits of upper-level free electives, enabling students to tailor their studies through focused tracks (like Supply Chain Management), certificate programs (such as Professional Selling or Entrepreneurship), or customized course selections. This program cultivates essential business acumen and leadership capabilities, including enterprise management, opportunity assessment, global and legal awareness, communication skills, and collaborative teamwork. Graduates emerge prepared to handle diverse administrative and operational roles across commercial and nonprofit sectors.
