Physics stands as the most essential and precise among the physical sciences. Its principles form the foundation for profound insights across all technological fields and numerous academic disciplines, including astronomy, chemistry, engineering, materials science, photonics, biology, medicine, geology, and environmental studies. Those pursuing a Physics Education major gain the skills to teach varied curricula to diverse student groups. Students should collaborate closely with advisors to ensure their general education courses build a solid base for advanced coursework. The Physics Department boasts expanding undergraduate and graduate programs while maintaining a relatively compact size, fostering close student-faculty relationships among all 11 professors. Students not only engage in research early but frequently co-author peer-reviewed papers and showcase findings at regional and national conferences. Furthermore, our students demonstrate remarkable involvement, consistently excelling in the University Physics Competition and actively supporting outreach initiatives.
