Students pursuing the Environmental Statistics Concentration should engage in environmental research, consulting, and collaboration with environmental scientists. These opportunities may arise through departmental or university initiatives, or via structured internships with organizations like the EPA and NISS at Research Triangle Park. The Master of Statistics program offers multiple specialization tracks. Alongside the standard (non-concentration) Master of Statistics, students can specialize in Biomedical Statistics, Environmental Statistics, Statistical Genetics, or Financial Statistics. Concentration distinctions primarily lie in required coursework, typically through elective selections. While the Master of Science option exists, currently few students pursue it, as this path mandates completing a thesis.
