From its inception, the program's key advantage has been its comprehensive scope—spanning fundamental to practical research—along with a strong emphasis on academic and extension excellence. The team currently consists of seven faculty members, seven technicians, and 19 graduate students. Efforts are synergized between Weed Science faculty (both research and extension), colleagues from other departments, and partnerships with private and public organizations. This cooperative approach has cultivated a program earning global acclaim. Alumni occupy influential roles in leading industries and academic institutions worldwide. The Weed Science team aims to sustain its position as a top-tier source of skilled professionals in the field.
Our faculty are dedicated to a forward-looking strategy of regularly enhancing crop protection initiatives to serve North Carolina's communities.
