The Curriculum and Developmental Supervision specialization is part of the Master's program in Curriculum and Instruction. Our mission is to develop professionals capable of fostering teacher growth throughout their careers. We aim to cultivate ethical, thoughtful practitioners who can work effectively with diverse populations while making informed, research-driven decisions.
This program equips educators for leadership roles in Curriculum and Instruction, a field gaining significance amid educational reforms. Graduates can pursue two primary leadership paths. The first involves school-based positions like department heads, grade-level chairs, mentors, or instructional coaches, focusing on teacher support and development. The second path leads to district-level roles such as curriculum supervisors, professional development coordinators, or directors of instruction. These positions encompass responsibilities from curriculum evaluation to leadership in educational policy. While job titles may differ, our program emphasizes foundational knowledge in curriculum design, instructional leadership, and supervisory practices applicable across school, district, regional, and national contexts.
