The Curriculum and Developmental Supervision specialization is part of the Master's program in Curriculum and Instruction. Our mission is to develop professionals capable of fostering teacher growth throughout their careers. We aim to cultivate ethical, thoughtful practitioners who can effectively serve diverse populations while making informed, research-driven decisions.
This program equips educators for leadership roles in Curriculum and Instruction, a field gaining significance amid educational reforms. Graduates can pursue two primary leadership paths. The first involves school-based positions such as department heads, grade-level chairs, lead teachers, mentors, or instructional coaches, with a focus on guiding and supporting fellow educators. The second path leads to district-level opportunities, including roles in central offices, regional centers, or other supervisory positions. These positions encompass responsibilities from curriculum evaluation to professional development coordination, up to directing curriculum and instruction programs. Since leadership titles differ across institutions, our program emphasizes foundational knowledge in curriculum theory, instructional leadership, developmental supervision, and practical applications across various educational levels - from individual schools to national systems.
