The MCT Concentration aims to equip students and postdocs with essential skills and knowledge for studying how environmental toxicants and cellular stressors impact toxicity and human disease development. Our goal is to prepare future toxicologists and environmental health scientists to excel as independent researchers and collaborative team members, addressing how environmental factors harm human health. PhD candidates build a strong foundation through coursework in toxicology, molecular biology, pharmacology, statistics, and pathology. Trainees at all levels develop expertise in ethics, grant writing, and scientific communication. Faculty mentors guide pre- and postdoctoral researchers in specialized molecular and cellular toxicology techniques. Trainees engage in weekly seminars as both attendees and presenters, with alumni returning each semester to share career insights and research experiences.
