Every individual deserves equal environmental safeguards and fair participation in decisions affecting their living, working, and recreational spaces. However, globally disadvantaged and minority groups often face greater environmental risks and fewer resources.
Through partnership-driven research, our academic team works to identify and tackle the uneven environmental health impacts linked to racial inequality, economic disadvantage, gender bias, age discrimination, and other social factors. More than just highlighting disparities, we examine potential remedies for environmental issues and assess how effectively they promote fairness during implementation. Our goal is to clarify connections between social inequalities and matters like park services, green space availability, disaster preparedness, and sustainable resource use.
