IMPI focuses on examining microbial communities and their relationships with arthropods, plants, and animals, including the roles of plant and insect microbiomes. This field investigates disease transmission, immunity, and host resistance while incorporating epidemiological, epizootiological, and modeling approaches to understand Insect Microbe Pathogen Interactions. The Entomology curriculum delivers comprehensive, high-caliber education in insect science for both undergraduate and graduate students. Our undergraduate courses cater to Agriculture and Life Science majors, Agricultural Institute students, and anyone fascinated by arthropods and their ecological connections. Combining classical and contemporary methods, we explore insects' significance in both natural and managed environments. Recognized internationally, CALS's entomology graduate program provides a rigorous academic framework, personalized research opportunities, and dedicated faculty mentorship.
