This GMBI specialization examines arthropod development from genetic and molecular perspectives, enhancing our comprehension of pesticide resistance evolution, host-parasite dynamics, and genetically modified insect varieties. The aim is to create innovative, non-chemical approaches for controlling arthropod pests and the diseases they transmit to both humans and agricultural systems. The Entomology curriculum delivers exceptional, comprehensive education in insect science for both undergraduate and graduate students. Our undergraduate courses cater to Agriculture and Life Science majors, Agricultural Institute participants, and anyone fascinated by arthropod interactions with their surrounding ecosystems. We combine classical and contemporary methods to investigate insects' roles in both wild and cultivated environments. Recognized internationally, CALS's entomology graduate program provides a rigorous academic framework, personalized research opportunities, and dedicated mentorship from faculty.
