The Department of Biological Sciences now offers a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Biology as its latest degree program. Designed for students seeking a strong grounding in life sciences while exploring another academic field, this degree provides flexibility for interdisciplinary studies. Unlike the traditional B.S. track, the BA allows undergraduates to combine biological sciences with complementary disciplines through a customized 21-credit elective focus area, approved by the BA Program Director. Past student-designed concentrations have spanned diverse fields including healthcare systems, psychological development, international health initiatives, social equity studies, quantitative analysis, behavioral science, intercultural studies, governance, community services, mental health, medical policy, and cultural anthropology.
