The 36-credit Master of Science in Event Management program features a core curriculum that equips students with essential business competencies for event professionals, covering finance, accounting, marketing, event production, risk management, and data analytics. Students must complete an internship, offering hands-on industry experience before graduation. (This requirement may be waived for those with at least two years of relevant full-time work experience or equivalent part-time employment.)
Elective courses are organized into three specialization tracks: business development, sports event management, and event operations. Students can mix courses from different tracks to customize their learning based on personal interests and career aspirations. The program culminates with a capstone option, allowing students to select either a consulting practicum or an individual thesis. Led by faculty with industry expertise, the program accommodates both working professionals and full-time students. Most students earn their degree in 1.5 years of full-time study or 2-3 years part-time. Instruction combines classroom learning with practical experience through networking events, lecture series, research initiatives, and internships—providing career-building opportunities for both newcomers and seasoned event professionals.
