NYU Langone's Division of Environmental Medicine offers an MS in Environmental Health Sciences, a focused program equipping students with specialized knowledge for careers in this field. The program accommodates both full-time and part-time enrollment.
Growing regulations in occupational safety and environmental protection have created more career prospects for professionals with environmental health expertise. Our MS program delivers graduate-level education applicable to roles in workplace safety, hazard communication, risk assessment, toxicant analysis, and related administrative or technical sales positions.
Graduates are prepared for careers across academic institutions, private industries, consulting organizations, trade groups, and government agencies at all levels. The program also enables secondary educators to incorporate environmental science into their teaching curriculum.
Students learn to apply contemporary scientific approaches to address environmental challenges. The curriculum covers essential topics like pollution principles, toxicology, and biostatistics, along with practical competencies including scientific data presentation and report interpretation.
The occupational-environmental hygiene concentration specifically addresses identifying, assessing, and managing chemical and physical hazards in workplace environments.
