The Master of Science in Biology offers comprehensive training in modern biological principles, featuring advanced studies in cell biology, molecular biology, microbiology, physiology, neurobiology, immunology, genetics, genomics, and systems biology. Designed for both part-time and full-time students, this flexible program allows participants to customize their course selections and research projects while fostering interdisciplinary collaborations with NYU's Chemistry and Physics departments, NYU Langone Medical School, the College of Dentistry, the Center for Neural Science, the Courant Institute for Mathematical Science, and the New York Genome Center. While most students complete the degree in 1.5 to 2 years, ambitious learners can finish in just 1 year by taking heavier course loads.
The Bioinformatics and Systems Biology track (previously known as Computers in Biology) equips students with essential computational skills for tackling both theoretical and applied challenges in biological research.
