The NYU Game Center focuses on examining games as an artistic medium and game design as an innovative craft. We operate on a fundamental belief: games hold significant cultural value.

Our diverse student body comes from various backgrounds like coding, digital arts, music production, animation, and storytelling, united by their passion for game creation. NYU offers both undergraduate degree options and a two-year MFA program in game design.

Qualification Requirements
For those who have completed their undergraduate degree and are seeking to further their education, development and knowledge in game design, we offer a 2-year Master of Fine Arts (MFA) program. Professional game experience is not required and applicants may come from a wide range of professional, personal, and educational backgrounds. Applications will become available in early October and will be due in the first week of January. The exact date is to be determined.

2 Letters of Recommendation
International students must submit proof of English Language Proficiency, the Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination, the Duolingo exam, or the American Language Institute (ALI) proficiency examination (at the NYU campus or any U.S. campus that offers the test). We do not have a minimum required score, but your test scores will be considered during the review process. You can submit your score using our institutional code (9633) through the Educational Testing Service (ETS). Competitive applicants will receive a total score of 100+ on the TOEFL and its equivalent on the IELTS.
