This one-year post-professional MA program allows you to enhance your occupational therapy expertise through a curriculum blending foundational courses in theory, research methods, and clinical application with specialized electives such as assistive technology, neurology, and pediatric care. Designed for practicing professionals, this master's program helps occupational therapists elevate their clinical competencies. Upon graduation, you'll re-enter the workforce with deeper knowledge of OT ethics, theoretical frameworks, evidence-based practice, and a more comprehensive view of the profession. The program also qualifies graduates to take the NBCOT certification exam. The curriculum includes required graduate courses covering OT theory, research methodologies, and clinical practice, complemented by elective options within the Occupational Therapy Department (including assistive tech, cognitive studies, neurology, orthopedics, pediatrics, and rehabilitation) or cross-disciplinary courses from NYU programs like special education, applied psychology, nursing, and curriculum development.
