For over 135 years, NYU's Graduate School of Arts and Science (GSAS) has cultivated global leaders. The International Relations MA program (MAIR) upholds this legacy by equipping students with comprehensive training for careers in international affairs through an academically rigorous curriculum. Our program examines International Relations through multiple disciplinary lenses and methodological approaches. By collaborating with faculty across GSAS, as well as experts from the Law School, Stern School of Business, and Wagner School of Public Service, MAIR students enjoy diverse academic pathways to customize their educational and professional journey. The program also hosts events featuring scholars, professionals, and peers to foster intellectual exchange in the field.
Participants follow the same core curriculum and required courses as the standard MA program. Additionally, they must complete 12 credits in International Law electives and 12 credits in International Relations electives, with all other requirements remaining identical.
