The Master of Arts program is structured to support both full-time and part-time enrollment. Full-time students must complete at least three semesters, while all candidates have a maximum of five years to finish the degree.
Admission to the economics MA program is highly selective, targeting exceptionally qualified candidates. We prioritize applicants with outstanding academic backgrounds in economics and quantitative methods, specifically those who have earned A-, A, or A+ grades in relevant undergraduate coursework. Competitive applicants typically meet these criteria: GRE Quantitative Reasoning at the 80th percentile (≥159 on the revised scale), GRE Analytical Writing at the 80th percentile (≥5.0), GRE Verbal Reasoning at the 50th percentile (≥150), completion of two calculus courses (or one calculus plus linear algebra), one statistics course and one econometrics course, intermediate microeconomics and macroeconomics, plus four additional undergraduate economics courses, with an overall GPA of 3.5 or higher. International students must also achieve a TOEFL score of 105 (internet-based). Ideal candidates demonstrate consistent excellence, with predominantly A grades in their economics, calculus, statistics, and econometrics courses. Note: We exclusively accept GRE general test scores—GMAT scores are not considered under any circumstances. Applications are assessed holistically, with emphasis on overall academic strength rather than isolated metrics.
