Our collective of socially conscious artists, designers, educators, activists, and community leaders collaborates to produce thought-provoking artistic interventions that spark conversations and drive societal transformation. This close-knit, cross-disciplinary initiative bridges art with social justice, rooted in an educational philosophy of optimism and potential. The MA in Art, Education, and Community Practice integrates academic concepts with hands-on learning through public space projects developed alongside neighborhood partners. In classes like Art and Ideas: Understanding Social Practice Art and Critical Pedagogy, Artists, and Public Spaces, students examine the historical and political foundations of community-based art and grassroots education, along with innovative approaches to activism and mobilization. During the program, participants engage with local groups to foster social change. The culminating project allows students to create, execute, and record an artistic initiative across urban settings such as schools, community centers, galleries, and public areas.
