This program is designed for certified music therapists who have a defined clinical specialization and wish to enhance their research capabilities. You'll have the flexibility to create a customized curriculum aligned with your professional interests, incorporating qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-method approaches for both coursework and dissertation research. The program accommodates full-time or part-time enrollment. Doctoral candidates will take two foundational courses to expand their interdisciplinary knowledge, drawing from contemporary scholarship in arts, humanities, sciences, and social sciences relevant to their specialization. Additionally, you'll undertake cognate coursework that either explores disciplines beyond music therapy or examines interdisciplinary connections between music and other fields.
