In partnership with our Clinical and Translational Science Institute, NYU Grossman School of Medicine offers a combined MD/MS in Clinical Investigation (MSCI) with a concentration in translational research, tailored for aspiring physician-scientists seeking to bridge laboratory discoveries with clinical applications.
Participants in this dual-degree curriculum engage in coursework covering research methodology, statistical analysis, population health studies, pharmaceutical development, and academic writing. Each student conducts an independent research initiative supervised by both a faculty advisor and the program leadership.
Weekly interactive sessions provide opportunities to collaborate with peers, troubleshoot research challenges, and devise innovative approaches. These gatherings foster integration into our dynamic research network.
Faculty advisors and program directors monitor student advancement through key milestones such as submitting scholarly abstracts, preparing publications, and presenting at national conferences. The program concludes with a comprehensive thesis and oral examination demonstrating original research contributions.
