The Dual-Degree program in Science and Engineering at the College, in partnership with NYU Tandon School of Engineering (previously Polytechnic School of Engineering), enables academically strong, driven students with technical interests to combine a liberal arts science major with a conventional engineering curriculum. This option is perfect for those passionate about science and engineering who also desire a liberal arts foundation before diving into undergraduate engineering studies. After completing this five-year program, graduates earn a B.S. from the College of Arts and Science and a B.S. from NYU Tandon School of Engineering. Graduates with this dual-degree background often discover outstanding career prospects.
Participants fulfill all College Core Curriculum requirements, excluding the foreign language component, for which they are exempt. (Their mandatory math and science classes naturally meet the Core's Foundations of Scientific Inquiry criteria.) The timing of specific courses typically allows for some flexibility, and students with Advanced Placement credits might reduce their semester workloads or create space for additional electives.
