This Bachelor of Science program offers dual certification in Childhood Education and Childhood Special Education, equipping future teachers for both general (grades 1-6) and special education environments. The comprehensive curriculum focuses on understanding human diversity while covering all essential elementary education subjects.
Students engage in extensive fieldwork and classroom observations, progressing to four semesters of student teaching in public or private schools. During the first two years, you'll gain hands-on experience in both general and special education classrooms across grades 1-3 and 4-6, building foundational teaching skills. The junior year features four supervised student teaching placements, each guided by an experienced classroom teacher and supported by our faculty members.
