The BFA in Studio Art program enables students to explore artistic forms and concepts simultaneously. This multidisciplinary program encompasses painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, photography, video art, digital media, performance, metalwork, ceramics, design, and praxis studies. Participants integrate art history and theory with humanities and sciences, while drawing inspiration from New York City's vibrant energy. The first-year Foundation Program offers a structured sequence of studio and critical theory classes, allowing students to investigate diverse artistic approaches and philosophies, equipping them with broad technical abilities and visual vocabularies for creative expression.
During their third year, students have the opportunity to spend a semester at one of New York University's international study locations. The culminating Senior Studio course spans a full academic year, helping emerging artists refine their practice for professional exhibition. Through individual and group critiques with senior mentors, faculty, visiting artists, and curators, students create a unified portfolio accompanied by a written thesis explaining their creative vision.
Qualifying seniors may participate in the Senior Honors program, collaborating with an experienced guest curator to evaluate and showcase selected student works in a collective exhibition.
