The 3D Animation & VFX Concentration teaches students core animation principles, guiding them from initial storyboarding to completed films while exploring visual effects techniques. To produce original work, participants must become proficient with industry-standard tools like Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Maya, Mudbox, and ZBrush. Foundational coursework encompasses Screenwriting, Storyboard Development, Character Creation, Anatomical Drawing, Performance Techniques for Animation, along with Lighting, Texturing, Rendering, Editing, and 3D Modeling/Sculpting.
Later stages focus on sophisticated methods including Motion Capture, Chroma Key Technology, Digital Compositing, Dynamic Simulations, Advanced CGI Lighting, Scripting, and Movement Tracking. The program thoroughly examines VFX fundamentals while training students in specialized software such as Nuke and Motion Builder.
Each participant creates a culminating project highlighting their chosen specialization, whether in modeling, animated effects, or an integrated approach. Dedicated project time ensures students can refine their work and exhibit expertise in their selected focus area. Note: Software offerings may evolve to reflect current industry practices during program implementation.
