Parsons' BFA Illustration program teaches you to transform concepts into visual creations across diverse mediums like picture books, graphic novels, hand lettering, editorial and advertising illustrations, toy designs, animations, and surface/display design. You'll hone your visual narrative abilities through representational drawing and painting while producing text, 3D objects, and animations. The curriculum helps you develop your artistic vision, unique voice, creative problem-solving skills, and intellectual curiosity.
Gain real-world experience through projects and internships with industry leaders like Nickelodeon, Toon Books, the New York Times, Moleskine, Barnes & Noble, and Brooklyn Industries.
Connect with NYC institutions such as American Illustration and the Society of Illustrators to network with top art directors, illustrators, and publishing experts.
Express your creativity freely while producing work for reproduction across multiple media formats.
The program starts with Parsons' first-year core curriculum, providing the foundation for all undergraduate degrees. Starting in your second year, you'll focus on major-specific coursework. Art and design history/theory classes enhance your research, writing, and analytical abilities, while university electives expand your worldview.
