Master various techniques and styles for both stage and screen. Classes in voice, speech, dance, and movement refine your acting skills. Performance opportunities abound through studio showcases, mainstage productions, student-led projects, and a culminating industry showcase in your senior year.
The Dramatic Arts BFA program at the School of Drama equips actors, directors, writers, and creative technologists to become innovative 21st-century artists. With strong industry ties, the curriculum supports both specialists and multi-disciplinary artists—whether actor-writers, director-writers, actor-technologists, or other creative combinations.
At its heart, the program fosters professionalism and community through immersive, cross-disciplinary projects in theater and media arts. Emphasis is placed on cultivating artistic voice, analytical skills, and teamwork abilities.

First Year Applicants
Applicants applying directly from high school must submit one counselor recommendation and one recommendation from a teacher. The Common Application School Report is also required.
Submit Official Transcripts
All applicants must provide official high school and/or college transcripts from all institutions attended. Undergraduate applicants who have attended multiple high schools can submit only the graduating school's official transcript as long as all prior coursework is listed on that transcript.
All applicants must submit an Artist Portfolio. Please complete the portfolio type that best matches your primary area of artistic practice by meeting the requirements listed below. In addition to submitting your complete portfolio, you may also choose to submit any combination of additional performance, directing, playwriting, dramaturgy, or creative technology work.
