The Master of Computer Science program offers two pathways: a thesis/project option and a coursework-only option. All graduate students must adhere to these requirements: Completion of 12 credit hours from the foundational courses (listed in the table below). Graduate students should enroll in C S courses at the 500-level or higher, excluding C S 469 Data Structures and Algorithms Transition or prerequisite 46x courses (Transition Courses), as well as C S 471 Programming Language Structure I and C S 474 Operating Systems I. Non-Computer Science courses may be included in the study plan only with written approval from both the student's advisor and the departmental Graduate Committee.
