The Rhetoric and Professional Communication (RPC) program's faculty embrace diverse approaches to research, teaching, and professional work. Collaboration and integration are central to our philosophy. We foster critical examinations that transcend conventional boundaries separating theory from application, creation from interpretation, and innovation from analysis. Our emphasis on context-driven exploration navigates cultural, technological, academic, and textual limitations to envision and achieve innovative solutions. Our graduate curriculum evolves continuously to reflect disciplinary advancements. The program structure establishes a theoretical grounding in essential areas (Composition, Rhetoric, Critical/Cultural Studies, and Technical/Professional Communication) via mandatory core classes, while allowing students to explore personal academic passions through various specialized electives. Instructors consistently introduce new courses aligned with their scholarly focus and student requirements.
