The School of Hotel, Restaurant & Tourism Management upholds New Mexico State University's comprehensive land-grant mission. Our goal is to address the requirements of our community through creative education, research, outreach, practical implementation, and collaborations across diverse cultural and global settings. This undergraduate program equips students for leadership roles in the expansive hospitality and tourism sector. Students can complete the bachelor of science degree either on NMSU's main campus or entirely online via NMSU Online. The curriculum also establishes groundwork for career progression toward executive management or business ownership. Within this hands-on, service-focused program, instructors, learners, and industry professionals combine academic concepts with real-world applications to achieve outstanding hospitality management. The coursework aims to develop students both personally and professionally in an evolving world. The core program includes classes covering essential competencies for industry achievement and personal growth. With guidance from faculty advisors, students customize their education by choosing specialized electives aligned with their career aspirations. A minimum grade of C- is required in all upper-level HRTM courses to fulfill major requirements.
