The Department of Animal and Range Sciences offers diverse pathways to explore contemporary agricultural science. The animal science program prepares students for various roles in the livestock sector, spanning from ranch operations to food industry leadership and specialized research in animal care. The range science program equips learners with essential skills for ecologically balanced land stewardship across multiple applications. Both programs provide adaptable foundations to meet evolving career demands. Students pursuing either animal or range science must fulfill core education standards, complete at least 48 upper-level credits (300+ numbered courses), and earn a minimum of 35 credits within the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences.
